DA I DA
Russia, 2014, dir. Valeriya Gai Germanika
Sasha is a young, non-conformist elementary school teacher from the moscow suburbs who lives with her conservative and hostile family. Soon, she meets Antonin – a young and troubled artist, and escapes her home to live with him. Antonin introduces Sasha to an art world of a surrealist dimension. Embedded with symbolism and visual metaphors, this complicated and short-lived love story is an exploration of love, freedom, and inspiration, that won Germanika the Best Director award at 2014 Moscow International Film Festival.
