New East Cinema is a curatorial collective established in 2014.

We showcase independent, auteur-driven cinema navigating cinema and identities in Eastern Europe, Russia, the Balkans, and Central Asia.

We have screened films at Barbican Centre, HOMEmcr and Calvert 22. Since 2020, our programme has been available online by Barbican Cinema On Demand across the UK and Ireland.

New East Cinema was founded by Olya Sova and is currently ran by Teodosia Dobriyanova.
